Where to Stay in Western Australia – Kimberley

Accommodation in the Kimberley is primarily aboard the liveaboard vessel during expeditions, with pre and post-trip accommodation available in Broome and Kununurra. Broome offers excellent accommodation from luxury resorts at Cable Beach to boutique hotels in the historic Chinatown area. The Cable Beach Club Resort, Pinctada McAlpine House, and several quality holiday apartments provide comfortable bases before and after expeditions. Kununurra offers more limited accommodation with the Kununurra Country Club Resort and several quality motels. The Kimberley's accommodation should be booked well in advance during the dry season (April-October) when both the liveaboard season and tourism peak coincide. The region's remote nature means that facilities are more limited than in larger destinations, but the quality of the liveaboard experience compensates for the lack of land-based luxury options.
