Dive Briefing
"A typical dive at Opal Reef begins with a descent from the dive boat to the main dramatic wall formation at approximately 15 meters. Once established at depth, divers should swim along the main reef formation, exploring the diverse habitats that characterize this site. The most productive depth zone for marine life encounters is between 8 and 20 meters, where the highest concentration of Whitetip Reef Shark, Giant Trevally, Moray Eel can be observed. Follow the wall contour, pausing frequently to peer into overhangs and crevices where nocturnal species shelter during daylight hours. The moderate currents at this site require careful buoyancy management and constant awareness of your position relative to the boat and reef. Always monitor your depth and no-decompression limits, particularly when exploring the deeper sections near 25 meters. Conclude the dive with a safety stop at 5 meters, deploying your DSMB if drifting away from the vessel."
