Site Overview

Attersee – Spreitzer Yacht is a wreck dive site in Upper Austria – Salzkammergut, Austria, set among the country’s varied freshwater landscapes. The Spreitzer is a sunken yacht lying at about eighteen metres in the Attersee, a larger and deeper wreck than the neighbouring Alexandrine. Its structure gives divers a more substantial wreck to explore, with perches and small fish using the shadow and the hull. The depth means it suits Advanced divers or those comfortable on a deeper, cold-water profile with a drysuit. Clear Attersee water makes the yacht readable from a distance, and a torch reveals the detail of the fittings. It is normally dived by boat from Weyregg and pairs well with the shallower Alexandrine for a progressive wreck day. As with all Attersee sites, the Arge Tauchen permit is required. Conditions are typical of Austrian inland water: visibility generally runs from 12 to 25 metres, the current is low and the water temperature ranges between 4 and 19 degrees Celsius depending on season and depth.
