Where to Stay in Guangdong – Shantou & Nan’ao Island

Shantou offers a good range of accommodation from budget business hotels to upscale properties, while Nan’ao Island features beachfront guesthouses and a few resort hotels. The island’s accommodation is concentrated near Houzhai town and the Qing’ao Bay beach area. Several dive-friendly guesthouses near the main dive departure points offer equipment rinsing and storage. Prices are significantly lower than Hainan or Shenzhen, reflecting the region’s less touristy character. The combination of comfortable accommodation, outstanding food, and uncrowded dive sites provides excellent value.
