Dubrovnik - Taranto Wreck is a wreck dive site in Southern Dalmatia - Dubrovnik & Peljesac, Croatia, set in the clear, fish-rich waters of the Adriatic Sea. The Taranto is a 120 m Italian merchant ship sunk in 1943, lying at 20-50 m off Dubrovnik as one of the Adriatic’s finest wrecks. The huge, largely intact structure is draped in marine life with massive groupers, dentex and barracuda. Its scale and depth make it an Advanced and penetration dive for experienced divers. Visibility is often spectacular, showing the great hull in full relief. The short boat ride from Dubrovnik keeps it a convenient bucket-list dive. It is widely regarded as a premier wreck of the entire Adriatic. Conditions are typical of the Croatian coast: visibility generally runs from 18 to 40 metres, the current is moderate and the water temperature ranges between 14 and 26 degrees Celsius depending on season and depth.
