Diving Flanked Wreck (Pula)

Site Overview

Flanked Wreck (Pula) is a wreck dive site in Istria (West Coast), Croatia, set in the clear, fish-rich waters of the Adriatic Sea. The Flanked is a 50 m Austro-Hungarian torpedo boat resting at 18-25 m just outside Pula, a compact and coral-encrusted wreck dive close to the city. The small hull is draped in sponges and gorgonians and attracts scorpionfish, moray eels and a steady stream of reef fish. Its shallowish depth makes it one of the more accessible wrecks in the Pula area for sport divers. The surrounding reef continues the dive after you have circumnavigated the wreck, with good macro potential in the cracks. Visibility is generally excellent, and the short boat ride makes it an easy addition to a training or fun day. It pairs well with Pula’s other wrecks and the shallow training bays for a varied itinerary. Conditions are typical of the Croatian coast: visibility generally runs from 15 to 30 metres, the current is low and the water temperature ranges between 14 and 25 degrees Celsius depending on season and depth.
