Site Overview

Kamenjak National Park (Premantura) is a wall dive site in Istria (West Coast), Croatia, set in the clear, fish-rich waters of the Adriatic Sea. Kamenjak is the protected peninsula at the southern tip of Istria, a maze of walls, caves and reefs rich in gorgonians and nudibranchs. Sites such as Golubova Cave and Fenoliga Cave offer dramatic swim-throughs and light effects for suitably prepared divers. The clear water and rocky topography support a vibrant community of sponges, sea fans and Mediterranean macro life. Both shore and short boat entries are possible, making it flexible for different experience levels. Surge and current can be present on the exposed points, so timing and a guide matter. It is a flagship natural dive of Istria and a contrast to the region’s famous wrecks. Conditions are typical of the Croatian coast: visibility generally runs from 15 to 35 metres, the current is moderate and the water temperature ranges between 14 and 25 degrees Celsius depending on season and depth.
