Diving Korcula - Proizd Island

Site Overview

Korcula - Proizd Island is a reef dive site in Southern Dalmatia - Dubrovnik & Peljesac, Croatia, set in the clear, fish-rich waters of the Adriatic Sea. Proizd is a small island off Korčula with shallow reefs rich in macro life. Nudibranchs and reef fish make it a relaxed photography and training site. Its easy depth suits Open Water divers and fun dives. Visibility is good, and the site is convenient close to Vela Luka. The island is scenic and quiet. It is a calm counterpoint to the deep Korčula walls. Conditions are typical of the Croatian coast: visibility generally runs from 12 to 30 metres, the current is low and the water temperature ranges between 15 and 26 degrees Celsius depending on season and depth. The marine life is classic Adriatic, centred on mediterranean nudibranch, two-banded seabream, common octopus, with the full community described below for those planning a dive.
