Site Overview

Lastovo - Zaklopatica Wall is a wall dive site in Southern Dalmatia - Dubrovnik & Peljesac, Croatia, set in the clear, fish-rich waters of the Adriatic Sea. The Zaklopatica Wall on Lastovo is a deep wall dressed in large gorgonians. Pelagic fish and the occasional dolphin make the blue exciting. Moderate current and the depth make it a dive for confident Advanced divers. Visibility is regularly excellent, among the best in the south. The remote island keeps it pristine and uncrowded. It is a flagship wall of the wild Lastovo archipelago. Conditions are typical of the Croatian coast: visibility generally runs from 18 to 40 metres, the current is moderate and the water temperature ranges between 14 and 26 degrees Celsius depending on season and depth. The marine life is classic Adriatic, centred on red gorgonian, greater amberjack, european barracuda, with the full community described below for those planning a dive. Because of its advanced rating and the need for Advanced Open Water certification, Lastovo - Zaklopatica Wall is best approached with the right thermal protection and, where relevant, wreck or deep training.
