Site Overview

Pula Amphitheatre Area (Pjescanau Uvala) is a training site dive site in Istria (West Coast), Croatia, set in the clear, fish-rich waters of the Adriatic Sea. The Pjescanau Uvala area near Pula is a shallow, sheltered training ground close to the city and its Roman amphitheatre. The gently sloping bay is ideal for courses, refresher dives and relaxed macro diving. Seahorses, pipefish and octopus are regular inhabitants of the seagrass and sandy patches. Because it is shallow and easy to enter, it is a favourite for night dives and underwater photography. Visibility is good for a bay, and the site is convenient for a first Adriatic experience. It is the perfect counterpoint to the deep wrecks that make Pula famous.
