Site Overview

Telašćica Nature Park is a wall dive site in Northern Dalmatia - Zadar & Kornati, Croatia, set in the clear, fish-rich waters of the Adriatic Sea. Telašćica is a nature park on Dugi Otok with some of the clearest water and steepest walls in the Adriatic. The cliffs fall into deep blue, dressed in gorgonians with large fish in the blue. A park permit is required, arranged through your dive centre. Visibility frequently tops 30 m, showing the dramatic relief. The remote, protected setting keeps the site pristine. It is a highlight of the northern Dalmatian island chain for wall divers. Conditions are typical of the Croatian coast: visibility generally runs from 20 to 40 metres, the current is moderate and the water temperature ranges between 14 and 25 degrees Celsius depending on season and depth. The marine life is classic Adriatic, centred on red gorgonian, greater amberjack, european barracuda, with the full community described below for those planning a dive. Because of its advanced rating and the need for Advanced Open Water certification, Telašćica Nature Park is best approached with the right thermal protection and, where relevant, wreck or deep training.
