Caesars Rocks – Beqa Lagoon and Pacific Harbour

Site Overview

Caesars Rocks is a dramatic series of submerged pinnacles rising from the depths within the Beqa Passage area, offering divers a spectacular underwater landscape draped in vibrant soft corals and towering sea fans. The pinnacles create a unique topography that attracts schooling fish from the open water, with large aggregations of jacks, barracuda, and groupers swirling around the structures. The rocky spires are covered in an extraordinary carpet of soft corals in shades of orange, pink, and purple, while massive gorgonian sea fans extend into the current to filter plankton from the nutrient-rich flow. Grey reef sharks patrol the deeper sections between the pinnacles, while schools of snapper and sweetlips shelter in the crevices. The site offers a compelling combination of dramatic topography, rich coral coverage, and exciting fish action that makes it one of the standout dives in the Beqa Lagoon area. The pinnacles rise from approximately 30 metres depth to within 5 metres of the surface, providing a range of depth options for different portions of the dive. Divers typically begin at the shallowest pinnacle and work their way deeper, exploring the walls and overhangs where different communities of marine life thrive. The moderate currents that flow around the pinnacles bring a steady supply of nutrients that sustain the prolific soft coral growth and attract pelagic visitors from the surrounding waters. Visibility is typically excellent, allowing wide-angle photographers to capture dramatic images of the pinnacles with schooling fish silhouetted against the blue water.
