Site Overview

Le Rubis is a wreck dive site in French Riviera – Côte d’Azur, France, reached from the base town of Cavalaire-sur-Mer. Le Rubis is a French Minerve-class submarine scuttled in 1942 as a dive wreck, lying upright on the sand at about 40 m. Its conning tower, hull and propeller are draped in marine growth and shelter conger eels and groupers. The site reaches a maximum depth of 40 m with an average profile around 33 m and a shallow start near 22 m, which places it firmly in the advanced category and means divers should hold at least an Advanced Open Water certification.
