Fitii Wall is Huahine's premier wall diving experience, featuring a dramatic vertical drop-off adorned with spectacular gorgonian fans that extend their delicate lattice structures into the current like underwater works of art created by nature over decades of patient growth. The wall face is a living tapestry of colour and texture, with massive gorgonian fans in shades of red, orange, and purple competing for space with encrusting sponges, tunicates, and bryozoans that create a richly textured surface providing habitat for countless small organisms. Schools of barracuda form their characteristic silvery curtains in the blue water adjacent to the wall, their streamlined bodies aligned with the current as they wait for smaller fish to venture from the safety of the reef. Green turtles are regular visitors to the wall, gliding gracefully along the vertical face as they graze on algae and occasionally pausing to rest on ledges where they can be observed at close range by respectful divers. The gorgonian fans themselves are home to numerous associated species including tiny pygmy seahorses that have evolved to perfectly match the fan's colouration and texture, making them nearly invisible to all but the most observant divers. Occasional manta ray sightings in the blue water beyond the wall add an element of surprise and excitement to an already rich diving experience that combines geological drama with biological diversity.

"Descend from the boat at the top of the wall and immediately appreciate the dramatic vertical drop-off plunging into the blue depths below. Swim along the wall face at a moderate depth, allowing the gentle current to carry you past magnificent gorgonian fans that extend their delicate lattice structures into the water column to capture passing plankton. Schools of barracuda form impressive aggregations in the blue water adjacent to the wall, their coordinated movements creating mesmerising patterns that provide excellent wide-angle photographic compositions. Green turtles glide along the wall face with their characteristic graceful movements, often allowing close approaches for observation and photography when divers remain calm and non-threatening. Peer closely at the gorgonian fans to spot the tiny pygmy seahorses that cling to the lattice structures with their prehensile tails, their perfect camouflage making them one of the most rewarding finds for macro photographers. Your guide will monitor depth and air consumption as the dramatic wall can tempt divers deeper than planned. Ascend gradually along the wall face, enjoying the shallower coral communities before completing your safety stop above the reef flat."
