The Rose Garden is one of Moorea\'s most visually distinctive dive sites, featuring a remarkable field of giant rose-shaped coral formations that create an underwater landscape unlike any other site in French Polynesia. These massive coral structures, formed by a specific species of hard coral that grows in distinctive rose-like whorls, span several metres in diameter and create a surreal garden of stone flowers stretching across the reef flat. The unique coral formations provide habitat for an impressive diversity of associated organisms, with butterflyfish of multiple species patrolling the coral surfaces in pairs as they feed on coral polyps and small invertebrates.
