Germany’s rivers and special freshwater sites round out the national diving picture with current, training and record-breaking experiences. The Rhine around Düsseldorf and Duisburg offers strong-current, low-visibility training for current certification among sunken barges, while the Elbe near Dresden holds rare, specialised search dives on historical wrecks. The Moselle adds moderate-current wall and freshwater dives, and the Murnauer Moos is a moor lake with uniquely brown-tinted, crystal-clear water and rare flora. The headline special site is Dive4Life in Siegburg, Europe’s deepest indoor pool at 60 m, a controlled environment for technical and deep training. These are niche, often challenging or purpose-built sites that complement the natural lakes and seas.

Fly into Düsseldorf, Cologne/Bonn, Dresden or Munich and use the excellent rail and Autobahn network; the Rhine, Moselle and Elbe sites are reached from their cities, Murnauer Moos from Garmisch/Munich, and Dive4Life is in Siegburg near Bonn.
