Site Overview

Langeoog is a training and reef dive site in North Sea – Heligoland & East Frisian Islands, Germany, reached from the base town of Langeoog. Langeoog is the quietest of the East Frisian islands, with shallow tidal training sites and a relaxed, car-free atmosphere. It is a good place to complete skills away from the crowds. The site reaches a maximum depth of 13 m with an average profile around 8 m and a shallow start near 2 m, which places it firmly in the beginner category and means divers should hold at least an Open Water certification. Conditions are typical of the North Sea environment: visibility generally runs from 4 to 14 metres, the current is moderate, and the water temperature ranges between 6 and 17 degrees Celsius with low surge exposure.
