Plauer See is a training and reef dive site in Northern German Lakes – Mecklenburg Lake District & Brandenburg, Germany, reached from the base town of Plau am See. Plauer See is a clear Mecklenburg lake famed for its underwater forest, where drowned trees rise from the depths beside sunken boats. The submerged woodland is a haunting, photogenic dive and a favourite for wide-angle shots. The site reaches a maximum depth of 25 m with an average profile around 14 m and a shallow start near 3 m, which places it firmly in the intermediate category and means divers should hold at least an Open Water certification.
