The Cape Tainaron Wall is the dramatic drop-off at the southern tip of the Peloponnese, where the rock falls from a shallow plateau to 50 m into deep blue water that can host large pelagics. The wall is clad in the hard-coral-like algae of the clear Mediterranean and patrolled by groupers, while the open water just off the face may bring stingrays, dogfish and, on rare occasions, a passing shark. Its exposed position means it can have swell and a steady current, so it is best for confident advanced divers, but the reward is pristine, lightly dived topography and superb visibility.
