The Arch at Skiathos is a gentle, shallow dive site centred on a natural rock arch and the small cavern behind it, making it a perfect introduction to cavern diving in the Sporades. The formation is draped in algae and scattered with life: glassfish shimmer in the shadow of the arch, morays peer from the holes, and anthias flit through the light. Because it is shallow and sheltered, the site is ideal for Open Water divers and training, while the photographic light through the arch delights more experienced divers. It is a relaxed, fish-filled dive close to Skiathos Town, and a great first or second dive of the day. For visitors who want an easy taste of the Sporades’ clear water and soft light, The Arch is a dependable favourite.
