Site Overview

The Reef at Kyparissia is a gentle, sloping reef on the unspoilt west Peloponnese coast, rolling from a shallow plateau to about 22 m and crossed by the hard-coral-like algae formations that give the site its quiet character. The bay is sheltered and forgiving, making it a favourite for newer divers and for anyone who loves slow, close-up observation. Loggerhead turtles forage over the reef in summer, morays and octopus watch from the rocks, and a busy community of wrasse and nudibranchs fills the algae. With reliable conditions and a short boat ride, the Kyparissia Reef is a lovely half-day out and a great place to really look at the Ionian up close.
