Puntan Dos Amantes (Two Lovers Point) – Hap's Reef & East Agana

Site Overview

Puntan Dos Amantes, named after the dramatic cliff-top viewpoint known as Two Lovers Point, extends its grandeur below the surface with steep underwater cliff faces adorned in gorgonian fans, soft corals, and sponge colonies. The wall descends from approximately 8 metres to beyond 30 metres, creating a dramatic vertical landscape that attracts whitetip reef sharks, sea turtles, and diverse reef fish. The site is particularly notable for seasonal whale shark sightings between January and April, when these gentle giants pass through the area feeding on plankton concentrations in the nutrient-rich waters off the Tumon Bay coastline. The gorgonian fans on the cliff face are among the largest on Guam, with some specimens exceeding one metre in diameter and creating spectacular wide-angle compositions against the deep blue backdrop. Green sea turtles are regularly encountered resting on ledges along the cliff face or grazing on the coral growth. The proximity to the famous Two Lovers Point scenic overlook means divers can combine an exceptional underwater experience with one of Guam's most iconic above-water attractions in a single visit.
