Dive Briefing

"The dive boat crosses from Grand Island harbour to Bounty Bay in approximately 15 minutes. Enter the water into calm shallow conditions with the rocky reef flat visible below at approximately 6 metres. Swim over the reef observing damselfish defending their territories and parrotfish grazing on algae-covered rocks. Navigate to rocky crevices where moray eels extend their heads watching for passing prey. Macro photographers will find nudibranchs and flatworms on the rocky surfaces requiring careful buoyancy and slow movement. The shallow depth allows extended bottom times exceeding 50 minutes. Ascend directly to the boat through calm surface conditions. The return crossing allows time to review macro photography captured during the dive and plan the next shallow reef exploration session at a different Grand Island location.
