Dive Briefing

"The dive boat departs from Bogmalo for the 25-minute crossing to the exposed western face of Grand Island. Descend along the wall crest from 5 metres following the rocky face downward to your planned maximum depth. Swim along the wall face observing soft coral gardens and sponge communities encrusting every available surface. Grouper rest on wall ledges while barracuda schools patrol the water column above. Position yourself near the wall edge for viewing pelagic species passing in the blue water including occasional trevally and hawksbill turtles. The moderate current along the wall face creates drift diving conditions carrying you along approximately 300 metres of wall. Ascend along the wall crest completing safety stops on the shallow rocky formations. The return journey across the Arabian Sea offers time to review wall photography and discuss the marine communities observed at various depths along the exposed western face.
