    Site Overview

Netrani Wall is the signature dive site of Karnataka's Netrani Island featuring a dramatic vertical rocky wall descending from 5 to 25 metres along the island's exposed northern face. The wall supports healthy soft coral and sponge communities with vibrant colouration contrasting against the deep blue Arabian Sea water. Grouper patrol the wall ledges while barracuda schools cruise above and trevally hunt in the moderate current along the wall edge. Whitetip reef sharks occasionally cruise the deeper base during morning dives and rare Napoleon wrasse sightings reward patient observers. Netrani Wall represents the best wall diving available on India's mainland west coast offering accessible depth profiles and consistent marine life encounters throughout the diving season. The wall's position on Netrani's exposed northern face means that it receives the full benefit of Arabian Sea currents delivering nutrients that support the most vibrant soft coral growth found anywhere on India's mainland west coast. The wall face features an extraordinary diversity of soft coral and sponge species creating a living tapestry of colour and texture that rewards exploration at every depth level throughout the vertical profile. The dramatic vertical profile and vibrant coral coverage make this the most photographed dive site in Karnataka attracting underwater photographers from across India seeking world-class wall compositions.

    Dive Briefing

"The dive boat departs from Murudeshwar harbour for the 15-minute crossing to Netrani Island's northern wall face. Descend along the wall crest from 5 metres following the rocky face downward to your planned maximum depth at the wall base. Swim along the wall face observing soft coral gardens and sponge communities encrusting the rocky surface at various depths. Grouper rest on ledges while barracuda schools patrol the water column above the wall edge. Position yourself near the wall face for viewing trevally hunting in the current flow. The moderate current creates drift conditions carrying you along approximately 250 metres of wall. Ascend along the wall crest completing safety stops on the shallow rocky formations. The return crossing to Murudeshwar harbour provides time to review wall photography and discuss the soft coral communities observed at various depths along the northern face. The return crossing allows time to review wall photography and plan subsequent dives at the caves and northern sites for a comprehensive Netrani Island experience."
