"The dive boat departs from Vizhinjam fishing harbour for the 15-minute crossing to the reef slope. Descend to the reef crest at approximately 5 metres and follow the gentle slope downward along the mild current direction. Swim over rocky outcrops observing parrotfish grazing and butterflyfish hovering around coral formations. Navigate to rocky areas where cuttlefish display colour changes on the reef face and lionfish hover near overhangs. Moray eels extend from crevices watching for passing prey. The gentle drift carries you along approximately 180 metres of reef slope. Ascend along the reef crest completing safety stops on the shallow rocky formations. The return crossing to Vizhinjam harbour provides time to review reef photography and discuss the cuttlefish behaviour observed during the productive slope drift dive.
