Dive Briefing

"The dive boat departs from Pondicherry harbour for the 15-minute crossing to the artificial reef location marked on GPS. Descend along the shot line to the reef structures visible at approximately 8 metres on the sandy bottom. Swim between the concrete and rock formations observing the marine colonisation covering the surfaces with soft corals and sponges creating colourful artificial habitat. Grouper patrol the larger formations while lionfish hover near the overhangs and moray eels extend from crevices between the structures. The reef layout allows interesting swim-throughs and exploration routes at various depths. The shot line provides a direct ascent reference completing safety stops in shallow water above the reef structure. The return boat ride provides time to review photographs and discuss the marine colonisation patterns observed on the artificial structures while planning subsequent dives at natural reef sites in the region.
