    Site Overview

Torpedo Alley off Malin Head and Inishtrahull Sound is a graveyard of WWI and WWII ships, including the SS Empire Heritage (with Sherman tanks, 40-65 m), HMS Audacious (battleship, 64 m), SS Justicia (70+ m) and U-2506 (Type XXI U-boat, 50 m). These are world-class technical dives in clear, current-swept Atlantic water, requiring trimix and decompression planning. For qualified technical divers it is one of the great wreck destinations of the British Isles. The site rewards careful planning, good buoyancy and a respect for the power of the Atlantic, and remains a favourite among Irish divers. Dive Briefing

"Run a full technical briefing with gas mixes, deco plan and lost-buddy procedures. Descend the shotline to the chosen wreck at depth, limit bottom time strictly, and ascend with planned decompression stops. The boat must hold position in any current, and a Chamber/DP contingency is mandatory. Respect the war-wreck status. Follow your guide closely, monitor your thermal comfort and complete a safety stop before exiting at the designated point.
