Site Overview

Akko Bay Reefs is one of the most distinctive dive sites along the Israeli Mediterranean coast offering scattered limestone bommies providing excellent macro diving with colourful invertebrates encrusting every available surface in the protected waters of Akko Bay. The series of isolated rock formations rising from the sandy bottom create habitat islands supporting diverse communities of nudibranchs, small crustaceans, and juvenile fish. This site is particularly valued by underwater photographers seeking intimate macro subjects and by marine biology students studying Mediterranean invertebrate biodiversity.
