Site Overview

Caesarea Marine Archaeological Park is one of the most distinctive dive sites along the Israeli Mediterranean coast offering the submerged remains of King Herod the Great monumental harbour built over two thousand years ago featuring massive Roman breakwater blocks, marble and granite columns, amphorae, and replica statues positioned along a marked underwater trail. This unique dive allows visitors to swim through history following a guided route past numbered stations that explain the engineering genius of Herod harbour which was one of the largest ports in the ancient Mediterranean.
