Site Overview

Shavei Zion Reef is one of the most distinctive dive sites along the Israeli Mediterranean coast offering complex rock formations sheltering octopus and cuttlefish populations in one of the most productive reef systems along the northern Israeli Mediterranean coast. The reef features limestone pinnacles rising from the sandy bottom creating habitat islands that attract diverse fish populations and colourful invertebrate communities. The site is located adjacent to the Shavei Zion kibbutz providing a unique combination of agricultural community atmosphere and accessible Mediterranean diving. The site attracts divers seeking an authentic Mediterranean diving experience with healthy marine ecosystems and clear water conditions throughout the main diving season from May through October.
