Site Overview

Stella Maris Wall is one of the most distinctive dive sites along the Israeli Mediterranean coast offering steep rocky wall adorned with gorgonian sea fans, spiny lobsters, and diverse nudibranch species. The site attracts divers seeking an authentic Mediterranean diving experience with healthy marine ecosystems and clear water conditions throughout the main diving season from May through October. Water temperatures range from comfortable 18 degrees in spring to warm 28 degrees in late summer with visibility regularly exceeding fifteen metres on calm days. The underwater landscape features a rich variety of marine habitats supporting diverse fish populations and colourful invertebrate communities that encrust every available surface. Stella Maris Wall is one of the few Mediterranean sites where gorgonian sea fans grow in significant numbers creating a forest of purple and yellow branching colonies on the vertical rock face. Spiny lobsters protrude from crevices at various depths while diverse nudibranch species decorate the rock surfaces with their brilliant colouration. The wall extends from eight metres to beyond thirty metres offering suitable profiles for all certification levels.
