Grotta Azzurra (Capo Vaticano)

Site Overview

The Grotta Azzurra at Capo Vaticano is a sea cave on the Calabrian coast where sunlight filters through the water to create a mesmerising blue glow. The entrance leads into a chamber decorated with red gorgonians, morays and the occasional lobster, while the clear Tyrrhenian water amplifies the colour. It is a favourite for photographers and a gentle intermediate dive that combines the magic of a light-filled cavern with healthy reef life just outside. The white-sand coastline above completes the scene.
