Site Overview

The HMS Sahib is a British submarine that sank off Gaeta during the Second World War and now rests at about 45 m, a haunting and historic technical dive. Its intact conning tower and hull are colonised by groupers, conger eels and gorgonians, and the deep, clear water adds to the atmosphere. It is a serious advanced and technical dive demanding proper planning, decompression awareness and respect for the fragile wreck. For those qualified, it is one of the most evocative WWII sites in the Tyrrhenian Sea.
