    Site Overview

The HMS Sahib is a British submarine that sank off Gaeta during the Second World War and now rests at about 45 m, a haunting and historic technical dive. Its intact conning tower and hull are colonised by groupers, conger eels and gorgonians, and the deep, clear water adds to the atmosphere. It is a serious advanced and technical dive demanding proper planning, decompression awareness and respect for the fragile wreck. For those qualified, it is one of the most evocative WWII sites in the Tyrrhenian Sea. The site rewards careful planning, good buoyancy and a respect for Italy’s marine-protection rules, and remains a favourite among Mediterranean divers. Dive Briefing

"Brief thoroughly on gas, depth and the submarine layout. Descend the shot line to the hull at 45 m, control buoyancy over the structure, and swim along with a torch. Plan your turn pressure early, ascend with decompression stops, and monitor cold and nitrogen carefully on this deep dive. Follow your guide closely, monitor your thermal comfort and complete a safety stop before exiting at the designated point.
