Roccella & Soverato Reefs

Site Overview

The sloping reefs around Roccella Ionica and Soverato on the Ionian coast are gentle, warm and rich in small life, a relaxed introduction to Calabrian diving. Octopus, seahorses, pipefish and bream forage over the sandy and rocky bottom, making it a favourite for training, night dives and macro photography. The sheltered bays and easy access keep conditions manageable, and the site is a practical place to build skills before moving to the deeper pinnacles. It is a calm, productive alternative to the dramatic headlands.
