    Site Overview

The Secca di Fuor del Capo is a wall off San Vito Lo Capo, on the edge of the Zingaro Reserve, dropping into exceptionally clear Sicilian water. Red gorgonians and groupers cover the rock, while barracuda and amberjack patrol the blue. The moderate current often brings the pelagics in, and the dramatic coastline above, with its white coves, adds to the experience. It is a signature site of western Sicily and a favourite for photographers, combining big fish with healthy reef. The site rewards careful planning, good buoyancy and a respect for Italy’s marine-protection rules, and remains a favourite among Mediterranean divers. Dive Briefing

"Brief on the wall profile and current, then descend the shot line and drift along the face. Control buoyancy to protect the gorgonians and watch for barracuda in the blue. Use a torch in the cracks, ascend with a safety stop, and be mindful of boat traffic near the cape. Follow your guide closely, monitor your thermal comfort and complete a safety stop before exiting at the designated point.
