Scoglio del Vervece
Site Overview
The Scoglio del Vervece is a rocky pinnacle off the island of Capri, one of the most iconic dives of the Campanian coast. Amberjack and barracuda sweep the blue while red gorgonians and groupers cover the rock, all in the famously clear Tyrrhenian water. The moderate current often brings the pelagics in, and the scenery above and below makes it a highlight of any Capri trip. It is a satisfying intermediate dive that combines big fish with the glamour of the island. The site rewards careful planning, good buoyancy and a respect for Italy’s marine-protection rules, and remains a favourite among Mediterranean divers. Dive Briefing
"Brief on the pinnacle profile and current, then descend the shot line to the top. Control buoyancy to protect the gorgonians and watch for amberjack and barracuda in the blue. Use a torch in the crevices, ascend with a safety stop, and be mindful of boat traffic near the coast. Follow your guide closely, monitor your thermal comfort and complete a safety stop before exiting at the designated point.
