    Site Overview

The Haven is a 334 m long VLCC oil tanker that sank off Arenzano in 1991 and now rests at 30-50 m, one of the largest wreck dives reachable by recreational and technical divers in the Mediterranean. Its vast hull is encrusted with soft corals and home to giant conger eels, groupers and the occasional barracuda. The sheer scale is breathtaking, and the warm deep water of late summer makes the deep profile more comfortable. It is a serious advanced and technical dive demanding proper planning, decompression awareness and respect for the enormous structure. The site rewards careful planning, good buoyancy and a respect for Italy’s marine-protection rules, and remains a favourite among Mediterranean divers. Dive Briefing

"Brief thoroughly on gas, depth and the wreck layout. Descend the shot line to the deck at 30 m, control buoyancy over the huge hull, and swim along the structure with a torch. Plan your turn pressure early, ascend with a safety stop, and monitor cold and nitrogen carefully on this deep, exposed dive. Follow your guide closely, monitor your thermal comfort and complete a safety stop before exiting at the designated point.
