Manta Scramble is Ishigaki's most famous dive site renowned worldwide for reliable reef manta ray encounters throughout the year with peak activity from May through November. The site features a prominent coral-covered pinnacle rising from twenty-five metres to five metres with a natural manta cleaning station at ten to fifteen metres where reef mantas visit regularly to have parasites removed by cleaner wrasse. The pinnacle is surrounded by deep blue water creating an open ocean environment where multiple manta rays often circle simultaneously providing spectacular observation opportunities.
