    Sunaabe Coral Garden is a protected reef site located along the western coast of Okinawa Main Island near Chatan offering exceptional coral diversity in shallow to moderate depths.     Dive Briefing

    "Enter from the beach or rock platform and swim across the sandy bottom at three to five metres depth toward the main coral garden. The reef begins approximately thirty metres from shore with dense coral formations covering the substrate from five to fifteen metres depth. Follow the coral slope downward observing the rich invertebrate life between the coral heads and watching for mandarin fish emerging at dusk from their coral hideaways. The deeper section at fifteen to twenty metres features scattered coral bommies on sand providing habitat for stingrays and garden eels. Return toward the entry point along the reef edge maintaining shallow depth for a long bottom time and gradual ascent.
