Underwater Military Museum - Jordan Diving

Site Overview

The Underwater Military Museum is Jordan's most extraordinary diving attraction featuring a collection of military vehicles aircraft and equipment deliberately sunk in two thousand and nineteen along the South Beach reef to create the world's first underwater military museum. The exhibits include a Lockheed L-1011 TriStar fuselage an M42 Duster anti aircraft tank a Cobra attack helicopter field guns an ambulance and various military vehicles all arranged at fifteen to twenty eight metres depth and now heavily colonised by marine life. Soft corals sponges and anemones have begun transforming the military hardware into artificial reef habitat while schools of jacks glassfish and batfish patrol between the exhibits. The museum represents a visionary conservation project designed to create new marine habitat while relieving diving pressure on natural reefs and providing a unique cultural attraction.
