"San Pedro Nolasco Island is reached by a 30-minute boat ride from San Carlos harbor across the Sea of Cortez. Descend along the rocky slope starting at 3 metres and work your way along the island's perimeter following the natural contour of the volcanic rock. Sea lions typically approach within the first minutes, with juveniles being particularly playful and interactive throughout the dive. Stay still and let them investigate you for the best encounters and photographic opportunities. The gorgonian fans covering the rock faces provide excellent macro subjects between exciting sea lion interactions.
