Dive Briefing
"Board the boat at dusk and motor to the dive site in open ocean away from the coast. Descend to approximately 15 meters in open water with no bottom reference and drift while observing the bioluminescent organisms attracted to your dive light. Comb jellies create rainbow light displays while larval fish and deep-water squid emerge from the depths. The dive lasts approximately 45 minutes as you observe the vertical migration of pelagic organisms. Maintain close proximity to your buddy and the surface marker. Ascend together performing a safety stop at 5 meters. The experience requires complete comfort with open water conditions and the ability to maintain neutral buoyancy without visual bottom reference. Your guide will identify species and point out organisms that would otherwise go unnoticed in the darkness. The bioluminescent displays created by disturbed organisms add an ethereal quality to the surrounding water. Maintain good buoyancy throughout the dive to protect the reef and ensure a safe ascent.
