Site Overview

USS Thunderbolt Wreck off Virginia Beach is one of the mid-Atlantic region's premier wreck dive sites featuring seasonal sand tiger shark aggregations, diverse pelagic fish communities, and dramatic naval vessel structure in the productive waters of the Virginia coast. The wreck rests at twenty-five to thirty-five meters depth supporting dense communities of tautog, spadefish, and seasonal cobia that patrol the deteriorating superstructure during summer months.
