Phu Quoc has rapidly developed into a world-class resort destination with accommodation options spanning from affordable guesthouses to ultra-luxury properties. The JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay, designed by Bill Bensley, is an architectural masterpiece on the south coast. Long Beach (Truong Beach) concentrates mid-range and upscale hotels with direct beach access. Budget travellers find excellent value in Duong Dong town where family-run guesthouses and hostels offer clean, comfortable rooms at very reasonable rates. The An Thoi area in the south is closest to the best dive sites and offers a quieter, more authentic island experience. Many resorts maintain partnerships with dive centres and can arrange packages. The northern beaches around Bai Dai and Ganh Dau host several luxury eco-resorts set amidst coconut plantations with private beach access. During the peak dry season from December to March, advance booking is strongly recommended as the island experiences high demand.
