Scuba Diving Regions in Barbados

From world-class walls to muck diving havens, discover the unique character of each regional cluster.

    Regional Diversity

Scuba diving in Barbados is truly a year-round activity, thanks to the island's tropical climate and its fortunate position just outside the main Atlantic hurricane belt. The peak diving season traditionally runs from December to May, coinciding with the dry season when the weather is consistently sunny, the trade winds are pleasant, and the sea conditions are at their calmest. During these months, horizontal visibility can often exceed 30 meters. The summer and autumn months (June to November) bring slightly warmer water temperatures and more humid conditions. While this is technically the hurricane season for the region, Barbados is rarely directly impacted, and many divers prefer this time for the even warmer waters and fewer crowds. Water temperatures range from a comfortable 26°C in February to a balmy 29°C in September, making a 3mm wetsuit or rash guard sufficient for most excursions.

    Planning Tips

Many regions are seasonally dependent. For Barbados, the best diving conditions are usually spread across different months depending on the archipelago or coast.
