Chapada Diamantina in Bahia's interior offers extraordinary flooded cave diving and snorkelling in one of Brazil's most spectacular natural settings. Poço Encantado (Enchanted Well) is the crown jewel, a flooded cavern where sunlight penetrates through an opening at midday creating an extraordinary blue light effect that illuminates crystal-clear water, limestone formations, and depths of 20-60 metres. Technical dives are possible in the deeper sections revealing pristine cave environments. Poço Azul (Blue Well) offers a similar flooded cave experience at shallower depths, ideal for mixed gas cave diving training and exploration. The Marimbus wetlands, known as the Pantanal Baiano, provide shallow freshwater environments with large fish and caimans though guided diving is limited. The Chapada Diamantina National Park encompasses dramatic table mountains, waterfalls, and cave systems making it one of Brazil's top adventure destinations. Getting There

Fly to Salvador (SSA) and drive 6-7 hours west to Lençóis, the gateway town to Chapada Diamantina. Alternatively, fly to Vitória da Conquista (VDC) and drive 4 hours. The roads are paved but the distance makes overnight travel advisable.
