Site Overview

Ciovo Island - Ciovo Wall is a wall dive site in Central Dalmatia - Sibenik, Split & Islands, Croatia, set in the clear, fish-rich waters of the Adriatic Sea. The Čiovo Wall is a drop-off off the island of Čiovo near Trogir, dressed in sea fans. Moray eels and macro life fill the cracks, while the blue holds the occasional pelagic. Moderate current and the depth make it a dive for confident Advanced divers. Visibility is regularly excellent, showing the wall clearly. The site is close to Trogir and Split, making it a convenient day trip. It is a natural complement to the Blue Lagoon training site. Conditions are typical of the Croatian coast: visibility generally runs from 15 to 35 metres, the current is moderate and the water temperature ranges between 15 and 26 degrees Celsius depending on season and depth. The marine life is classic Adriatic, centred on red gorgonian, mediterranean moray, greater amberjack, with the full community described below for those planning a dive. Because of its advanced rating and the need for Advanced Open Water certification, Ciovo Island - Ciovo Wall is best approached with the right thermal protection and, where relevant, wreck or deep training.
