Site Overview

Jarun Lake (Zagreb) is a training site dive site in Inland Freshwater Sites, Croatia, set in the clear, fish-rich waters of the Adriatic Sea. Jarun Lake is an urban lake on the edge of Zagreb, used for training and night dives. Sunken platforms and objects give divers structured things to navigate and practise on. It is shallow and accessible, making it popular with courses and refresher dives. Pike, zander and coarse fish use the vegetation, and the clear shallows suit macro. A wetsuit is usually enough in summer, though the thermocline still brings cold deeper down. It is a practical, no-fuss city lake for building skills. Conditions are typical of the Croatian coast: visibility generally runs from 2 to 8 metres, the current is low and the water temperature ranges between 8 and 22 degrees Celsius depending on season and depth.
