Site Overview

Lina Wreck (Cres) is a wreck dive site in Kvarner Gulf, Croatia, set in the clear, fish-rich waters of the Adriatic Sea. The Lina is an 80 m cargo ship scuttled in 1943, now lying at 25-40 m off Cres as one of the northern Adriatic’s best wrecks. The hull has become a thriving artificial reef, with schools of dentex, groupers and moray eels using the structure. Its size means you can easily spend a full dive exploring the deck, railings and the surrounding sandy slope. Visibility is often excellent, showing the wreck and its fish life in clear detail. The moderate depth makes it a satisfying Advanced dive without the commitment of the deepest wrecks. It is a flagship site of the Kvarner Gulf and a favourite for underwater photographers. Conditions are typical of the Croatian coast: visibility generally runs from 15 to 35 metres, the current is low and the water temperature ranges between 14 and 25 degrees Celsius depending on season and depth.
